THEORETICAL APPROACHES TO DEFINING THE CONCEPT OF "EXPORT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT"

The article examines theoretical approaches to defining the essence of the category “export-oriented enterprise development” under conditions of globalization, increasing international competition, and structural transformations of the national economy. The relevance of forming an export-oriented development model to ensure enterprise competitiveness and Ukraine’s economic resilience during martial law and post-war recovery is substantiated. The main scientific approaches to interpreting the concept of “development” are generalized, including systemic, structural, resource-based, process, and evolutionary approaches. The relationship between the categories “enterprise development”, “export-oriented enterprise”, “export-oriented entrepreneurship”, and “export-oriented development” is investigated. The research methodology is based on the application of system analysis, logical generalization, comparative analysis, and the structuring of scientific approaches. It has been determined that most existing interpretations of an export-oriented enterprise mainly characterize the result of foreign economic activity, while the process of forming export capacity remains insufficiently studied. The paper proposes the author’s interpretation of “export-oriented entrepreneurship” as a purposeful entrepreneurial activity based on strategic orientation toward foreign markets and systematic formation of competitive advantages. The author’s approach to defining “export-oriented enterprise development” is substantiated as a continuous process of qualitative and quantitative changes aimed at developing export potential, adapting to the international environment, and ensuring long-term international competitiveness. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of applying the proposed approaches in the formation of management mechanisms for export-oriented enterprise development and in designing strategies for entering foreign markets.
