GENESIS AND CONTEMPORARY PERCEPTION OF ENTERPRISE ECONOMIC SECURITY

Abstract

A new stage of military aggression has radically changed the security environment for Ukrainian enterprises. War has become the dominant threat, while others have not disappeared but have transformed. As a result, the action protocols adopted by security actors have proven to be unsuitable or less effective. Adaptation is complicated by the fact that a state of temporary stabilization has not been achieved; thus, the security situation continues to change dynamically. Under such conditions, it is important to create a basis that reflects intermediate stages in the transformation of the content of the concept of “enterprise economic security” in order to subsequently track shifts and determine the foundations for improving the relevant system under the conditions of each enterprise. The study is aimed at summarizing and systematizing existing research on enterprise economic security to create the necessary basis for updating the principles of forming the relevant system, that is, based on the current security situation. To examine the genesis and contemporary perception of enterprise economic security, the following methods were applied: induction and deduction, comparison and systematization — when studying the essential characteristics of the term "enterprise economic security"; synthesis and analysis — to clarify the list of threats whose impact dominated in certain periods over the past thirty years; morphological analysis — to specify the semantic content of the concept of "enterprise economic security" in accordance with a particular approach; graphical methods — for visual presentation of theoretical and methodological material; and abstract-logical methods — for theoretical generalizations and research conclusions. Stages in the perception of enterprise economic security have been identified. The main approaches to the content of enterprise economic security ("ensuring protection," "resource-functional," "maintaining stability," and "alignment of interests") have been systematized and critically examined, which formed the basis for substantiating the author’s perspective that corresponds to the current security situation. It is proposed to consider enterprise economic security as a state achieved by taking into account the possibility of the existence and intensification of external and internal threats, followed by the implementation of a set of security measures to maintain resilience and ensure the necessary conditions for enterprise development.
