The article explores the role of digital technologies as a tool for greening the economy in the face of global environmental challenges and the transition to a sustainable development model. It is substantiated that digitalization enables new approaches to managing natural resources, increases energy efficiency, reduces the negative environmental impact of economic activity, and ensures transparency in environmental policy. It is determined that modern digital solutions create the prerequisites for a “green” and circular economy based on data-driven decision-making. The global experience with digital technologies in greening the economy is analyzed. Practical applications of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and digital twins in environmental monitoring, energy system management, increasing the energy efficiency of buildings, waste management, and sustainable agriculture are considered. The functioning of the Pano AI, Clarity Air Quality Monitor, TwinEU, Siemens Gridscale X, Schneider Electric IntenCity, Sensoneo, DeepMind, Crop Digital Twin, John Deere See & Spray, and other digital solutions that reduce CO₂ emissions, optimize resources, and increase the environmental efficiency of economic systems was studied. Special attention was paid to international initiatives of UNEP and ITU aimed at forming global environmental platforms and supporting digital transformation in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Based on generalizations from global experience, promising areas for implementing digital technologies in Ukraine were identified. The feasibility of using digital platforms for environmental monitoring, smart grids, digital twins, AI solutions for predicting the production of “green” energy, smart building technologies, and waste management systems in the processes of post-war recovery and modernization of the Ukrainian economy was substantiated. It was concluded that digital technologies are an important factor in the formation of a competitive, environmentally safe, and innovative economy.
