HEALTH CAPITAL AS A COMPONENT OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY OF SOCIETY

Abstract

The article explores the economic essence of health capital as a tool for ensuring the socio-economic stability of society. It is determined that health capital takes into account the system of physical, mental and social well-being of the population. The corresponding system affects labor productivity, the duration of economically active life and the adaptive capabilities of society in conditions of crisis phenomena. It is substantiated that investments in health are long-term in nature. On the basis of which a multiplicative effect is formed. It manifests itself in the growth of economic activity, improving the quality of life and strengthening social stability. In the process of research, the relationship between the health status of the population and macroeconomic development indicators was established. Synergy occurs through the impact on the level of savings, investment activity and gross domestic product. It is proven that demographic processes, in particular the reduction of the reproductive potential of the population, have a negative impact on the formation of health capital and the long-term stability of the economy. The main problems of the development of health capital are identified. Among which it is worth identifying the insufficient efficiency of institutional support, limited financial resources, inequality of access to medical services. Priority areas for strengthening the development of health capital are substantiated. The relevant areas include the formation of a preventive health care model, the development of primary health care and the improvement of financingmechanisms based on the combination of state, insurance and private resources. It is determined that the integration of policies in the areas of health care, education, ecology and social development is a necessary condition for increasing the efficiency of health capital formation. It is summarized that the development of health capital is the basis for ensuring the long-term socio-economic sustainability of society, improving the quality of life of the population and strengthening national resilience.
