Abstract

The article examines the essence and directions of integrating ESG approaches into the financial management system of business entities in the context of the digital transformation of the economy and the growing requirements for sustainable business development. Theoretical approaches to interpreting ESG as a tool for enhancing financial stability, investment attractiveness, and enterprise competitiveness are generalized. The impact of environmental, social, and governance factors on key financial decisions in the areas of financial planning, cost management, investment activity, and financial risk management is revealed. The role of “green” capital investments, investments in human capital, and the development of corporate governance in optimizing asset structure, reducing the cost of capital, and stabilizing enterprise cash flows is substantiated. Based on the generalization of international analytical reports and academic research, a positive relationship between the level of ESG integration and the financial performance of enterprises is proven. The main barriers to the implementation of ESG approaches in the financial management of Ukrainian business entities are identified, and practical directions for overcoming them are proposed. A scheme for integrating ESG approaches into the enterprise financial management system is proposed, which enables the combination of financial and non-financial indicators within a unified management model.
